This is an original DIN 934 spec nut with a 14 across the flats (14 mm wrench). During most Porsche 356 production, 8 mm bolts and nuts were used with 14 mm across the flats of the head. These nuts are made in Germany and have a black oxide finish. Head marking is a "G" for the German manufacturer "Graeka".

Over 80 of these nuts are used in many places on all 356s such as:

Transmissions
Bumpers
Hoods
Pedal assembly
Shift system
Front end and steering
Brakes
