This carbon contact brush goes into the steering column below the dash on pre-A and 356A models. The brush rubs against the brass sleeves on the steering rod. Wires go up the rod to the horn button and (optionally) the horn ring. To operate the horn and headlight flasher, you need two of these assemblies. This part is also known as the brush holder assembly.
